    Board of Trustees


    The board of trustees sets the hospice strategy and monitors the organisation’s progress towards its strategic objectives. The current members of the board are:
    Gordon Tollefson: Chairman

    Mr Tollefson, a retired Ambulance Service senior manager, has been involved with the hospice since the beginning - firstly as a member of the council of management and then the board. He has been board chairman since 2001.

    He now works part-time with a consortium of GPs and his voluntary work includes being a magistrate, Deputy Commander of St John Ambulance in South and West Yorkshire and a Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire.
    Adam Wearing: Company Treasurer,

    Adam Wearing BA Hons (Oxon) ACA

    Adam qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young in 2002 as has held a number of finance

    and accounting roles since then. He is currently Financial Controller with a global credit referencing

    agency looking after all aspects of accounting and financial control. Adam is married with two young

    children who absorb pretty much all of his free time.

     
    Colin Allen, a retired consultant surgeon who enjoys literary festivals and caravanning in Europe with his wife, has had a long relationship with the hospice and was board chairman before Mr Tollefson.
    Ian Dransfield, got involved with the hospice as a volunteer and later joined the board. He is a retired newsagent and fire officer and an active member of Normanton Rotary Club and a school governor.
    Brynton Parkes: Deputy Chair, is a retired legal executive and a member and past captain of Normanton Golf Club. Brynton has been a board member for over 10 years and takes a keen interest in income generation for the hospice.
    Ann Gleed MBE, has been involved with the hospice for more than 25 years and a board member for more than 10 of them. She has worked as a volunteer fundraiser, a helper in the day hospice and a sales assistant in hospice shops.
    Dominic Hayes, joined the board in 2008. He is head of information technology at a Leeds law firm.
    Pam Spectch, was appointed as a trustee in 2008 and has been a General Medical Practice Business Manager for 18 years in Leeds, where she is also involved in new health initiatives...

    Roger Whitaker,  has been a trustee for more than ten years and takes a special interest in fundraising. He is a retired British Telecom engineer.
